Blogs rule!

Publisher: 'Blog' No. 1 word of the year (CNN)

A four-letter term that came to symbolize the difference between old and new media during this year's presidential campaign tops U.S. dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster's list of the 10 words of the year.

I find this extremely amusing that "blog" was noted as one of the most searched words of this past year. I find it more amusing, however, that the word is now going to be added to some dictionaries, beginning next year. With technology continually on the rise, words are continually being created, causing for a broader vocabulary for our society. In years to come, I would be surprised to start finding our everyday slang terms. Will the word "chill" come to also have a definition, something along the lines of "v., to relax or hang out," or "adj., accepting in the mind of a teenager." Yes, this is a stretch, but I am certain that 10 years from now, the dictionary will be sure to include many words which we never thought would appear.
